faithwoodgirls that glitter love the dark 23. Female. Took a break from school and have recently gone back. Busily pursuing a B.A. in English Literature, minoring in Gender Studies. Hope to get a M.A. and perhaps even go for the big Ph.D someday. Am very obsessive. Latest fandom obsession seems to be Naruto. Figures I'd get into it about a million years after everyone else. I think the Naruto canon is deeply flawed, but it has enough interesting ideas to make for a very enjoyable fandom. I also love all the crack. Past or other obsessions include: Fullmetal Alchemist, A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, X-Files, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragonball Z, the Final Fantasy series, Sailor Moon (we're talking a long time ago here), old school video games like the Super Mario Brothers series, the Earthsea series by Ursula K Le Guin, Quentin Tarantino movies, and various and sundry other series which have made me go "Ooh, shiny!" Stupidly enough, I can't even remember all of them off the top of my head. |
break its wings and it will never disappear I am pretty lax about friending, and I generally don't care who friends me. I mostly blog about school and fandom. 95% of my entries are public, so if you're not on my f-list, you're not missing much. Out of the meager sense of privacy I possess (and out of respect to my friends), I usually do lock most picture posts nowadays, and I do f-lock some "rl" entries. I am not a fan of friends-locked wankery and passive-aggression -- rants about specific individuals behind their backs, in short. Of course, it is one's prerogative to do as they please in their own LJ, but I subscribe to theferrett's first point on avoiding LJ-drama. This means that if I feel or think something wanky, I tend to either post it publically and honestly, or I just mull over it and let it naturally subside. Sometimes, very rarely, I will vent behind f-lock about a subject if I have some belief that venting in public will cause outside parties to jump in where they don't belong, resulting in wank. However, the number of times I've vented behind f-lock is pretty negligible. This is just to note what else my f-locked entries sometimes contain. |

The amount of courtesy you show will be returned in equal measure, which is to say that if you try to start something, I will bite you. But I don't want to. I want to be nice and get along with everyone. Don't make me not do this. Please. I like meeting new people. :) You must be registered to comment on my journal. I realize we're all somewhat anonymous on the internet, but complete anonymity isn't something I find kosher, and anonymity used for causing trouble is something I abhor. I believe that, since we're already playing in an original author's sandbox, fandom should be about courtesy and sharing ideas and fanworks. I don't like fan author or fan artist privilege. I don't believe in plagiarism (obviously; who in their right mind does?), and I think showing netiquette and politeness is always for the best. |
